This module concentrates on the operation and maintenance of service cranes used for the routine working of the ship, such as deck, provisions and engine-room cranes. It does not cover larger cranes and derricks designed for the loading and discharge of cargo, such as might be found on a general cargo ship or heavy-lift vessel.
